If there is one person in the world who has done countless activities in the blues world, he undoubtedly is Roger “Hurricane” Wilson. Singer, guitar player, composer, music educator, radio DJ, music journalist or broadcaster have been some of the many blues related jobs he has done till now. For more than 45 years he has taught guitar lessons, he is jury member at the International Blues Challenge, he was inducted to the Oklahoma Blues Hall of Fame for his work in Blues in the Schools programs and his collaboration with Dusk’ Til Dawn Blues Festival as well. He has shared stage with artists like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith or Charlie Musselwhite among many others.
As Roger is a restless person, in 2023 he formed a new trio with Paul Arredondo on bass and vocals and Sandra Senn on drums, two experienced musicians who have enthusiastically joined Wilson to communicate the groove and energy the three musicians’ treasure.
The recording shows three musicians who eagerly present seven songs, three of them Roger’s own compositions, which drive us closer to styles like blues, country or Americana music, spiced with some rock touches.
The three musicians perfectly understand each other and develop an album where, besides showing their good instrumental technique, they communicate an unimaginable honesty and love for the music they perform. If you are looking for genuineness, credibility and the feeling to let yourself go with the wind in your face while you are traveling along those long endless American roads, this album will fulfill your expectation
